The Deadlights Embark on Debut Midwest Tour
Based out of three noncontiguous states spread across the country, The Deadlights is a band born out of the boredom and cabin fever of the pandemic lockdowns. Through the past year-and-change of concert cancellations, many musicians struggled to create and entertain within the ‘new normal’ of these constraints. In June of 2020, a group of musicians across the country collaborated in an effort to bring new music back to their audiences, writing and producing the song “Dancing With My Shadow”, an ode to the restlessness of the times. Following that song’s release, four members of that collaboration made the decision to formally come together as a band to create The Deadlights.
With the re-opening of our local venues, The Deadlights is now moving on to a debut tour across the Midwest, hitting major cities throughout the region to bring their virtual collaboration back to the venues we love.
Being relegated to only meeting through Zoom sessions, the members of The Deadlights utilize the virtual environment to their benefit, having released 8 original songs and 2 covers within the last few months (each accompanied by a music video, found on their Facebook and website linked below), culminating in an LP, which will be available for purchase throughout their tour and beyond.
Combining classic rock emotion with modern rock energy, The Deadlights have created a canon of songs both infectious and engaging to the listener. Playing a mix of originals and crowd favorite covers, The Deadlights will finally, through this tour, meet their fate of having to actually be in the same room together.
Performing in Chicago at Savemore Lounge on September 3th, it’s a show not to be missed as the FIRST night of their tour. Also gracing the stage with be Absolute Phase, The Beta Waves, and Banjer Dab.
