Biography: Nino Arobelidze’s sound combines Soul, Indie-rock, Jazz and World Music, creating a unique musical experience that is being dubbed a must-see by concert-goers.
Tbilisi born Chicago based singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist Nino Arobelidze moved to the U.S. as a teenager. While attending DePaul University Music School Nino put together her first group, The CrossRoads Project (the name being a nod to the city of her birth, known to link Asia to Europe via its trade routes). It was the Strange Brew EP release with The CrossRoads Project that started gaining a loyal fan following both nationally and abroad for the young artist.
Nino’s solo full length release, NOMAD in 2014 established her as an artist to watch among numerous media outlets while her live performances continued to gain momentum with listeners. “In each of her songs you can hear the underlying of jazz cruising over the cool, subtle beats” wrote Cynthia Crawford (The Chronicle), while Tony Sarabia of WBEZ compared Nino’s voice to Billie Holiday’s ( WorldView).
Nino is on US tour in support of her latest album GIRL NAMED NINO, released on April 11th, 2016 on the independent label Ni Fu Ni Fa Records.
