About JBTV Studios

Some of you may already be familiar with JBTV from Jerry Bryants TV music video show. He plays all the latest and greatest videos three nights a week with no comercials, and always has guest musicians and bands in the studio with him requesting videos. The show airs every Wed on "WJYS"Ch.62 at 11:00 p.m. and also airs on ch.25 "The Loop" on Thursdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 11:30 p.m. Please visit www.jbtvonline.com to learn more about the show.

I (Tim Rusin) was brought in by Jerry to start doing odds and ends audio work here at the studio for him. However, for the basis of my income I am doing free-lance work out of his recording studio he has here at JBTV. The studio used to be a very busy one back in the late 70's, but was put to rest for several years. Jerry was impressed with my extensive knowledge of pro-tools and some of the recordings he had heard me do in the past including some recordings of bands I did for his show, so he decided to completely re-equip the studio with a new Pro-Tools HD Accel system and a Control 24 fully automated counsel. So now I'm working here at the studio 7 days a week. Durring the week I am mainly doing work for Jerry, and then I try to book up my weekends with bands to bring into the studio to record a demo, or start on an album. So if you want to get in get a hold of me quick because availability is limited.

So who am I? you might ask.. I am a 26 year old Columbia college graduate with a Bachelors degree in audio engineering and have been recording for about 10 years now. (7 years professionaly) I used to run a mobile recording company called R.M.S. Recording which was how I acheived most of my knowledge and experience with recording music. I have worked with several differrent bands including everything from Rap to Death Metal. In late May of 2005 I recorded an acoustic piece called "Was it a dream" for Jared Letto of "30 seconds to mars" for a live shoot on JBTV.

The amount of care I put into every recording project I do is almost un heard of anymore and I'm not happy until the band/ musician is happy with the product. Feel free to contact me with any questions or even if you would like to set up a tour to see the studio before we start talking business..

The JBTV control room.. It's a very cozy control room where I usually keep the lights down low, I like the vibe. It's about a 20x25 ft room with plenty of space and sitting area. This room has been very well acoustically tuned for mixing and mastering.

Studio A is the smaller of our two spaces here but is connected right with the control room and the iso booth. Studio A is a pretty "dead" sounding room, not a whole lot of reflections going on in this room. Great room for wanting a very dry isolated recording. The room is about 12x30 ft.

Connecting the control room and studio A is our isolation or vocal booth. This room is great for, well do I really need to explain.. isolating.. the room is about 9x15 ft

Studio B is the live room of all live rooms! It's a whoping 5,000 sqft of wood, with 20 ft celings. The only kinda weird thing is that it is on the third floor, as the control room and other studio ar on the second. I have a monitoring system all set up though so we can not only talk to each other, but see each other as well. I usually use this room specifically for tracking drums, but it can serve several other purposes as well.

Studio B also serves as a bit of a lounge which includes a mini fridge, pool table, and bar like tables and stools. All around a great space and drums sound HUUGGEE up here!
