“SKINNY LITTLE BITCH” NEW SINGLE – GOES TO RADIO TODAY, IMPACTS MARCH 8th AT ALL ROCK RADIO FORMATS, UP FOR DIGITAL SALE ON MARCH 16th
Candid cover story in current (March) issue of SPIN magazine
Hole to perform at SPIN party at SXSW – further dates to be announced
(March 3, 2010 – New York, NY) “Courtney Love has found a home,” proclaimed www.SPIN.com, the magazine’s website, referring to NOBODY’S DAUGHTER, the brand new album by Hole – which will be released April 27th on Mercury Records.
The first single pick from NOBODY’S DAUGHTER is “Skinny Little Bitch,” which goes to radio today, in advance of the March 8th impact date at all Rock Radio formats. In addition, the song is now available to download on the bands website www.NobodysDaughter.com for 24 hours. “Skinny Little Bitch” will be available at all digital platforms on March 16th.
Along with Courtney, the new line-up of Hole includes 23-year-old British guitarist Micko Larkin (formerly of London indie rockers Larrikin Love), bassist Shawn Dailey (of Rock Kills Kid), and drummer Stuart Fisher. (Jack Irons, formerly of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pearl Jam, played drums on the album.) Hole recently played a brief series of dates in February at Shepherds Bush Empire in London, then in Milan and Amsterdam. Hole is scheduled to perform at the SPIN party at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Music Conference in March, with further tour dates TBA.
In the devastatingly candid cover story in SPIN’s March issue (on newsstands now), “The Nine Lives Of Courtney Love,” writer Phoebe Reilly and photographer Daniel Jackson spent a day and night at home in TriBeCa and its environs with the legendary singer, songwriter, producer, and actress. During their conversations and encounters, Courtney speaks freely of the odyssey that led to the completion of NOBODY’S DAUGHTER and her hopes for the album’s success. Her tumultuous associations with various collaborators along the way (“the kindness of strangers,” she says) – producer Michael Beinhorn, Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, co-writer Linda Perry.
NOBODY’S DAUGHTER is the first album by Hole in more than a decade (since 1998’s three-time Grammy-nominated Celebrity Skin). It also marks Courtney’s first record since her solo album America's Sweetheart of 2004 (with “Mono” and “Hold On To Me,” both songs co-written with Linda Perry, who co-wrote the bulk of that album’s songs with Courtney). FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
KEVIN LEE & THE KINGS RELEASE DUSK TILL DAWN ON SIGUS RECORDS
Midwestern guitar pop aficionado Kevin Lee and his band The Kings will release a six-song EP entitled Dusk Till Dawn to an eager worldwide following. Fans of powerful, hook-filled rock and roll will be familiar with Lee from his major-label years with his former band, The Lonesome City Kings, on the MCA imprint. Since then, Lee has put out a series of well-received albums chock full of Lee’s trademark songwriting approach, which is all about big hooks, chunky guitars, and melodies that can’t be forgotten. Dusk Till Dawn continues on this path, with six brand-new tunes that are certain to keep Lee fans clamoring for more. Rockers like “The Other Side” and the radio-ready ballad “Invisible” show that Lee hasn’t lost a step in the songwriting game and, if anything, demonstrate that he has improved his craft in recent years.
Not everything on Dusk Till Dawn is business as usual, however, with the biggest departure from past records is Lee’s use of his road band (bassist Dann Morr, drummer Erik Strommer, and keyboardist Peter Spero) to back him up in the studio rather than the cadre of Chicago session all-stars who Lee has chosen in the past. This gives the songs here a more live feel, the kind that can only come from musicians who have lived with the songs they are recording. Produced by Rick Barnes, whose client list includes The Smashing Pumpkins, George Clinton, and Lucky Boys Confusion, the EP is less about studio magic and more about gutsy, catchy rock songs that capture and keep listeners. The music here will draw the inevitable comparisons to Lenny Kravitz and Cheap Trick, but Lee found his own sound early on and is always much more than the sum of his influences. Lee fans will also want to be on the lookout for a video for “The Other Side” sometime in 2010.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 14, 2009 PHARMACY OF LOVE, THE NEW STUDIO ALBUM FROM BETTIE SERVEERT, SET FOR MARCH 23rd RELEASE Lead Single/EP, "Deny All," Will Be Available Beginning January 26th On The iTunes Music Store |
| Bettie Serveert's new album, Pharmacy of Love, will be released on March 23rd by Second Motion Records in the U.S. and by Sound of Pop in Canada. But fans will get a preview of the new material with the acclaimed Dutch indie rock band's digital EP, Deny All, which will be available beginning January 26th on the iTunes Music Store. In addition to lead single "Deny All," the EP will include a long version of "Calling (XL)" and a small version of "Souls Travel (small)" plus "Waiting for Control," a bonus track that won't appear on Pharmacy of Love. You can check out the video for "Deny All" at: http://www.bettieserveert.com/media/vc_denyall.html With the band employing a "back to basics" approach, Pharmacy of Love captures the kind of raw, contagious energy that has long characterized Bettie Serveert's live shows. Recorded earlier this year in a Belgian recording studio, founding members Carol van Dyk (vocals/guitar), Peter Visser (guitar) and Herman Bunskoeke (bass) were joined on the new album by special guest Joppe Molenaar (of the Dutch band Voicst) on drums. "It's the blow upon a bruise," sings van Dyk on "Love Lee," and the phrase perfectly describes Bettie Serveert's proclivity for cloaking the starkest emotions with verve and aplomb. From the urgent "Deny All" to the anguished album closer, "What They Call Love," Pharmacy of Love is a masterful collection of songs that are by turns raucous, shimmering and shiver-inducing as they examine the vagaries of life and love. Bettie Serveert released its debut album, Palomine, in 1992. Signed to Matador Records in the States, the band was championed by critics and quickly became a favorite at college radio with singles "Tom Boy" and "Kid's Allright" getting substantial airplay. Lamprey, which Melody Makerpraised for having the most tangled, desolate, real life guitar sound of the year, was released in 1995, followed by 1997's Dust Bunnies, which the band recorded in Woodstock, NY with producer Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Lemonheads). The band toured extensively, opening for bands such as Belly, Dinosaur Jr, Buffalo Tom, Superchunk, Jeff Buckley, Wilco and Counting Crows. After its 1998 live album of Velvet Underground covers, Bettie Serveert Plays Venus in Furs and Other Velvet Underground Songs, the band released a string of studio albums - Private Suit, Log 22 and Attagirl - on its own label, Palomine Records. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, Bettie Serveert released Bare Stripped Naked in 2006. A semi-acoustic CD/DVD package of primarily new material, it was hailed byallmusic.com as "a rousing and heroic reminder of what a great band they were and continue to be." The track listing for Pharmacy of Love is as follows: 1. Deny All 2. Semaphore 3. Love Lee 4. Mossie 5. The Pharmacy 6. Souls Travel 7. Calling 8. Change4Me 9. What They Call Love |

HOT CHIP
NEW ALBUM ‘ONE LIFE STAND’ TO BE RELEASED ON
FEBRUARY 9, 2010 ON ASTRALWERKS
(November 10,
One Life Stand is a full-blooded leap into the unknown, an album that is awash with Hot Chip’s trademark creative bravery and a searing emotional intensity from first track to last. Indeed, One Life Stand is by far Hot Chip’s most complete body of work to date, an album that is more cohesive and more soulful than 2007’s ambidextrous Made In The Dark and more ambitious than 2005’s Mercury nominated and GRAMMY® award winning The Warning. One Life Stand is an album that establishes Hot Chip as one of the most relevant and creative bands of our era.
With Joe Goddard, Alexis Taylor, Felix Martin, Al Doyle and Owen Clarke at the helm it is no surprise that they borrow, create and take inspiration from a plethora of influences. One Life Stand sees a proliferation of influences as diverse as the burgeoning UK funky scene to soul music, modern R&B, Northern Soul, Gospel, Golden Age Electronica, House, the sounds of Arthur Russell, Prince and Theo Parish- and they all sit effortlessly alongside the band’s signature pop aesthetics, wild electronics, off kilter beats and intoxicating musical experimentation in a way that only Hot Chip can execute.
Fans will have the chance to pre-buy the album on amazon.com starting this week. Check out the Hot Chip artist store at amazon.com in the coming weeks for exclusive streams and webisodes.
Look for further announcements including a new single and US tour dates soon.
