CHICAGO’ MUSIC 4 HAITI Chicago’s Recording Industry supports the
Haitian recovery efforts
CHICAGO (January 25, 2010) – Haiti has been hit with a disaster its
never seen before and the world has bonded to assist in their efforts
to rebuild. Chicago Music 4 Haiti contributes a benefit concert
showcasing the rich and diverse talents of Chicago musicians, spoken
word artist and bands to fundraise for YELE HAITI. Chicago Music 4
W Lake Street on Sunday, January 31st, 2010. Chicago Music 4 Haiti
will be hosted by Alderman Walter Burnett and Darlena Williams-Burnett
presented by Miller Coors in 3 rooms of non-stop entertainment.
The red carpet reception begins at 6pm.The Grammy viewing party; located in the Volcano room (upstairs) is from 7pm-10pm. Mary Datcher,
Event Producer of Chicago Music 4 Haiti, emphasizes the significance
of the community’s involvement in assisting Haitians during their time
of need and crisis. “Chicago is one of the most dynamic and diverse
cities in the world and its music reflect the wonderful melting pot of
music. We are coming together to raise money and continued awareness
of this tragedy. We have taken so much for granted, now is the time
for the Chicago Music Industry community to come together and give
back.”
There will be a silent auction where several companies will donate
items with proceeds going to Yele Haiti. Items are donated courtesy
of: The Wit Hotel, Guitar Center, Music Industry Workshop, The Hotel
Sax, Chicago Recording Studios, Apple Vacations, So She Cosmetics,
House of Blues, and Nike.
The main room will showcase live performances of different genres
starting at 9pm. Teefa (Power 92) and Dave Jeff (PHLI Clothing) are
hosting the benefit concert.
