I just wanted to attempt to make everyone aware of the current situation that Skinny Puppy is in. Due to the fact that SPV filed for insolvency earlier in the year the new Skinny Puppy LP will not be out in time for the tour. We have been in discussion with SPV and had hoped to find a solution to the mess they have put us in, but it looks as though things will not get sorted out until years end. We have meetings set with them in the near future and I hope to be able to let everyone know that things will be back on track soon. Songs have been recorded and artwork has been worked on and once we resolve the issues we have with SPV we will release them.None of the issues with SPV will jeopardize this tour. The band is really excited to get out and play and we think this is going to be a tour to remember!!Everybody in the Puppy camp wants to let you know that we always appreciate the support and we are looking forward to the "In Solvent See Tour" as much as any tour we have ever done.

Archie Powell & The Exports are a young group of midwestern miscreants looking to remind human beings what makes it all good and delicious. Offering a classic pop sensibility delivered with a stiff dose of feedback, the band's songs give off the impression of what it might have sounded like if Nirvana did a lot of Tom Petty Covers, or how Creedence Clearwater Revival could have ended up if John Fogerty wore glasses. Reviewers have their own ideas, making claims along the lines of them being much like "the better parts of Weezer and Bishop Allen" (The Project Lodge). Their debut effort, the "Loose Change EP", was released to the public as a free download and has been described as "loose, raw, and downright fun" (Bill's Music Forum) in addition to being "more than plain ole' rock and roll, it's a mini party in a 5-song EP" (Powerpopaholic). Catch Archie Powell & The Exports live before they enter the studio to record their full length follow-up this Winter.

A potentially devastating turn of events during the recording sessions revealed a great deal about the determination and patience with which Kristina has pursued her dream. After having recorded most of the album, a disastrous computer glitch resulted in the deletion of nearly all the music that had been completed. What might have been a crushing blow to a lesser individual, Kristina instead turned into inspiration, rallying her cohorts and re-cutting the vanished material with even more passion. The experience even provided her with an album title, because there’s no sense in crying over spilt milk.

JUSTIN NOZUKA ANNOUNCES US TOUR
New York, NY – Toronto singer/songwriter Justin Nozuka has announced a Fall US tour that will round out the year on a high note, and will bring new music to eager fans across the country. The five-week tour will bring Nozuka and his band from New York on November 3rd at Webster Hall to Seattle’s Neumos on December 3rd, playing large clubs and theaters in Boston, DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco and Los Angeles, to name a few, and visiting cities such as Omaha and Eugene, OR for the first time. See all tour dates below.
Nozuka’s 2009 has been very busy and included an early spring co-headlining US tour with Missy Higgins that wrapped with a performance on John Mayer’s second annual boat cruise, The Mayercraft Carrier II, where the singer shared the stage with O.A.R., Guster, and Mayer himself. Among headlining dates this year across France, the U.K., Japan and Canada as well, Nozuka had time to work on his sophomore album, entitled GRAY, for Glassnote Records, which is expected to be released next year. He has been recording the album with Bill Bell, who also produced Justin’s debut, Holly. On this tour fans can expect to hear a number of brand new songs, which Justin has never played live in the US.
“The second album is almost complete,” says Nozuka. “It's been a long while in the making, and I'm so pleased with how it's all feeling. More then ever, I'm excited to be coming out on the road again and to have the opportunity to make music with my guys, and to spread it throughout. It's all very exciting!”
Nozuka’s sparsely produced debut is intimate, immediate, and passionate, and garnered much attention from fans and the US media alike. The video for the first single, “After Tonight,” quickly moved up in rotation at VH1 to be the #1 most played video, and even garnered Justin a stamp of approval from the music channel when it named him a “You Oughta Know” artist. mtvU also embraced the young star and played his “After Tonight” video so often that Nozuka was asked to perform at the 2008 mtvU Woodies pre-show. Entertainment Weekly dubbed Nozuka a “most promising male singer/songwriter,” and he performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Good Morning America NOW. Nozuka’s talent and relentless touring is paying off across the globe as well. His debut, which was recorded when he was only 17, earned him a Juno (Canadian Grammy) nomination for Best New Artist, and the album is now certified Gold in France.
What the press says about Justin Nozuka:
“Nozuka has a gift of being sensitive without cloying, pleading without whining. His vocals have a beautifully immediate quality; there’s no artifice to be heard. Every now and then you don’t have to choose between the guy with the stunning talent and the guy who can give you a platinum hit. Nozuka is both, and as close to a sure bet as there is in the music industry. See him now in a club before you can only see him in the arena.” – Paste
“The arrangements across [Holly] are absolutely inspired, and range from spare to lavish, all are blues based, but incorporate pop, folk, nods to the Bristol sound, even flamenco into the mix. A stunning debut, whose lyrics and atmospheres linger on long after the last (hidden) track has played.” – All Music Guide

New details about the event continue to be unveiled at http://phish.com/festival8. Given Phish's long-standing Halloween tradition of donning a "musical costume" and performing a classic album from another band, speculation is rampant as to which album the band will play during its "Halloween set," scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. Rolling Stone readers have shared their picks (http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/07/27/readers-rock-list-what-album-should-phish-cover-for-halloween/) and the band has begun to reveal which albums it won't be playing. The process of elimination is underway at http://phish.com/festival8/halloween/index.html, where fans can view the gallery of contenders and watch as album covers are bludgeoned by an unseen slasher.Phish has promised to play "the last record left alive." In the first of three performances on Sunday, November 1, Phish will play its first-ever full-length acoustic set. Coffee and donuts will be served during this "breakfast" show. The band will give a total of eight performances during the three-day celebration, which also features on-site camping and numerous attractions and art installations. For ticket information and additional details about Festival 8, visit http://www.phish.com/festival8/. In a four-star review, Rolling Stone called Phish's latest record, Joy, "a genuinely great album" while The New York Times noted: "their pleasure at collaborating again comes through every song 'Joy' celebrates friendships, continuity and shared memories with quick-fingered glee." Recorded with Steve Lillywhite, who produced the band's Billy Breathes (1996) and albums by U2, Dave Matthews Band and the Rolling Stones, Joy was the first non-archival release on JEMP Records, an independent record label created in 2005 by the members of Phish. The label's initial function was to release live concerts in CD, DVD and digital formats from the band's extensive archives, which are located in Burlington, VT. Phish - comprising lead guitarist/vocalist Trey Anastasio, drummer Jon Fishman, bassist Mike Gordon and keyboardist Page McConnell - has released 11 studio albums as well as a series of 44 complete live concert CDs. Its series of 138 full concert downloads is currently available onlivephish.com. Kylie Minogue’s first ever show in Chicago this Wednesday October 7th is being moved at the last minute to the
The Spectacular, originally scheduled to be staged at the Congress Theatre, sold out months ago but the sheer scale of the production just won’t fit into the Congress, necessitating the upgrade.
The promoters apologize to any fans inconvenienced by this last minute change. The good news is that

This was easily the best show I’ve seen in
It’s impossible to describe the full spectacle of the Kylie experience...The fact that she fit it all into a relatively intimate venue was a marvel unto itself. The show seemed to have been designed to be visible from the moon...it was one thrill after another, especially for the fans who had waited so long for this moment...
