According to Peter: “Even the most placid music has to have some sense of longing, otherwise it’s just boring; a close friend once told me if there was bumper sticker for me it would read 'RELUCTANT GYPSY'.”
Peter completed Traces swiftly, only 6 months after releasingleavetaking in 2008. Apparently, Peter's travels are a source of inspiration, be they reluctant or not!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PERSON L TO RELEASE NEW RECORD, THE POSITIVES, ON NOVEMBER 17th NEW SONG DEBUTS TODAY ON MYSPACE FALL TOUR DATES CONFIRMED ![]() |
| Academy Fight Song is proud to announce the release of Person L's second full-length record, The Positives, on November 17th. In anticipation of the forthcoming release, the band will be exclusively premiering the new album's title track on theirMyspace page today, September 29th. Following the DIY nature of Initial, Person L's 2008 self-released debut, the band looked to Aaron Marsh, lead musician and producer of the band Copeland, to produce The Positives at his home studio, The Vanguard Room. Marsh helped the band forge a new sound which clearly represents a huge departure from frontman Kenneth Vasoli's former band, The Starting Line. A major contribution was helping them to bring to the fore the band's trademark complex rhythms with their unique use of percussion and two drummers. "We were aiming to keep a very raw and dirty quality to the record while still making it comprehensive and colorful," notes Vasoli. Person L recently wrapped up dates with Ace Enders and a Million Different people, and have confirmed a co-headlining tour with John Nolan (Straylight Run) this fall. The tour will kick off in Cleveland, OH, on November 10th and will continue through December 12th in the band's hometown of Philadelphia, PA. Prior to these dates, Vasoli will be embarking on a very special solo acoustic tour through Australia in October. The band will also be headlining at World Café Live in Philadelphia on November 9th for the release party of "Somebody's Gonna Miss Us," the CD/ DVD from The Starting Line. Person L is Kenneth Vasoli (Vocals, Guitar), Ryan Zimmaro (Drums, Percussion), Brian Medlin (Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals), Charles Schneider (Bass & Backing Vocals), and Nathaniel Vaeth (Rhodes Piano, Guitar). Track Listing for The Positives: 1. Hole In The Fence 2. Good Days 3. The Positives 4. Goodness Gracious 5. New Sensation 6. Stay Calm 7. Sit Tight 8. Loudmouth 9. Changed Man 10. RONNIE SPECTOR TO RELEASE THE LAST OF THE
Record Includes New Christmas Classic
New York, NY (September 29, 2009) - Ronnie Spector, the iconic leader of The Ronettes and woman whose transcendent voice and look shaped rock 'n roll, is releasing her first domestic album in over two decades on Tuesday, November 10th. The Last of the Rock Stars (Bad Girls Sounds /
As proclaimed by LA Weeky, Ronnie "conveys balls-out emotion with her magical, badass pipes" and her instantly recognizable voice and attitude are in full force on The Last of the Rock Stars. The album opens with the punky, neo-garage "Hey Sah Lo Ney" on which Yeah Yeah Yeah's guitarist Nick Zinner lends his skill. Written by acclaimed songwriter Amy Rigby, "All I Want" features the guitar work of Keith Richards, who also lends his voice and musicianship to the playful duet, "Work Out Fine." The haunting track "There Is An End," composed by Craig Fox of the Greenhornes with Patrick Keeler of the Raconteurs and Jack Lawrence of The Dead Weather, includes a cameo by Patti Smith.
The album also features Ronnie's version of "It's Christmas Once Again," produced by Johnny Gale (Robert Randolph, Ryan Shaw) - a perfect complement to the sleigh-full of Ronnie's hits that already dominate the airwaves every holiday season: Her rock 'n roll renditions of "Sleigh Ride," "Frosty the Snowman" and "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" are three of the top played holiday songs on the radio. In addition to her annual "Christmas Party" performance at B.B. King's in
About Ronnie Spector
Ronnie has proven to be the ultimate rock n' roll survivor and an artist whose voice defines an entire era of pop music. Her style and sound have influenced everyone from Joey Ramone and Bruce Springsteen to Amy Winehouse and The Raveonettes. As the lead singer of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Ronettes, she pioneered a female daringness and performance style that did not previously exist - with their sexually-charged persona, The Ronettes were the first women in rock to do for boys in the audience what Elvis did for girls. In the five-years they were together, they generated hugely successful singles including "Be My Baby," "Baby I Love You" and "Walking In The Rain." Ronnie's biography, Be My Baby: How I Survived Mascara, Miniskirts, and Madness, was released in 1990 and became an international bestseller. In 1999 Ronnie released She Talks to Rainbows; an EP produced by Joey Ramone, on the indie label, Kill Rock Stars.
