JUSTIN NOZUKA ANNOUNCES US TOUR

New York, NY – Toronto singer/songwriter Justin Nozuka has announced a Fall US tour that will round out the year on a high note, and will bring new music to eager fans across the country. The five-week tour will bring Nozuka and his band from New York on November 3rd at Webster Hall to Seattle’s Neumos on December 3rd, playing large clubs and theaters in Boston, DC, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Austin, San Francisco and Los Angeles, to name a few, and visiting cities such as Omaha and Eugene, OR for the first time. See all tour dates below.

Nozuka’s 2009 has been very busy and included an early spring co-headlining US tour with Missy Higgins that wrapped with a performance on John Mayer’s second annual boat cruise, The Mayercraft Carrier II, where the singer shared the stage with O.A.R., Guster, and Mayer himself. Among headlining dates this year across France, the U.K., Japan and Canada as well, Nozuka had time to work on his sophomore album, entitled GRAY, for Glassnote Records, which is expected to be released next year. He has been recording the album with Bill Bell, who also produced Justin’s debut, Holly. On this tour fans can expect to hear a number of brand new songs, which Justin has never played live in the US.

The second album is almost complete,” says Nozuka. “It's been a long while in the making, and I'm so pleased with how it's all feeling. More then ever, I'm excited to be coming out on the road again and to have the opportunity to make music with my guys, and to spread it throughout. It's all very exciting!

Nozuka’s sparsely produced debut is intimate, immediate, and passionate, and garnered much attention from fans and the US media alike. The video for the first single, “After Tonight,” quickly moved up in rotation at VH1 to be the #1 most played video, and even garnered Justin a stamp of approval from the music channel when it named him a “You Oughta Know” artist. mtvU also embraced the young star and played his “After Tonight” video so often that Nozuka was asked to perform at the 2008 mtvU Woodies pre-show. Entertainment Weekly dubbed Nozuka a “most promising male singer/songwriter,” and he performed the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Good Morning America NOW. Nozuka’s talent and relentless touring is paying off across the globe as well. His debut, which was recorded when he was only 17, earned him a Juno (Canadian Grammy) nomination for Best New Artist, and the album is now certified Gold in France.

What the press says about Justin Nozuka:

“Nozuka has a gift of being sensitive without cloying, pleading without whining. His vocals have a beautifully immediate quality; there’s no artifice to be heard. Every now and then you don’t have to choose between the guy with the stunning talent and the guy who can give you a platinum hit. Nozuka is both, and as close to a sure bet as there is in the music industry. See him now in a club before you can only see him in the arena.” – Paste

“The arrangements across [Holly] are absolutely inspired, and range from spare to lavish, all are blues based, but incorporate pop, folk, nods to the Bristol sound, even flamenco into the mix. A stunning debut, whose lyrics and atmospheres linger on long after the last (hidden) track has played.” – All Music Guide

“This 19-year-old impresses with the acoustic pop-soul on his debut.” – PEOPLE

“He’s just a teenager, but this American-born Canadian-bred singer-songwriter’s vocals are as soulful and wise as blues greats four times his age.” – Teen Vogue
