Hey Chicago Jazz Fans!
I wanted to make sure you knew about this extremely important Chicago jazz event coming up very soon- We’re very excited to announce a special jazz festival celebrating the birth one of Delmark’s favorite artists and jazz clubs, Chicago’s avant-garde father, Mr. Fred Anderson – Fred Anderson’s 80th Birthday Celebration Festival at the Velvet Lounge – March 15th–22, a week long tribute to Fred and his Velvet Lounge with an incredible line up of the best artists in creative Chicago jazz. Many Delmark artists will be performing at this one of a kind event, including the honoree, Fred Anderson, along with Nicole Mitchell, Kahil El’Zabar, Ernest Dawkins, Ari Brown, Corey Wilkes, Jeff Parker, along with many special guests like Billy Brimfield, Hamiet Bluiett, Kidd Jordan, and Henry Grimes. We're also excited to announce that Delmark will be recording/videotaping some of the shows for future release; come out and be a part of jazz history!

Fred Anderson’s 80th Birthday Tribute FestivalA.K.A. The Velvet Lounge “Bail-Out” Festival (all proceeds to benefit the Velvet)In honor of Fred Anderson’s 80th birthday, the Velvet Lounge is presenting the 80th Birthday Tribute Festival beginning Sunday, March 15, and culminating on Sunday, March 22, with Fred’s birthday party. The event will feature multiple bands each night, special guests, a limited edition poster, and a limited edition cd of Fred Anderson Trio: Birthday Live 2000 at the Velvet Lounge recorded on Fred’s 72nd birthday.
