SUPERSTAR SOPRANO SARAH BRIGHTMAN KICKS OFF WORLD TOUR THIS FALL USING REVOLUTIONARY STAGE TECHNOLOGY

Symphony World Tour to follow Brightman’s Extraordinary Performance at 2008 Beijing Opening Ceremony

Brightman Releases First Ever Christmas CD: A Winter Symphony on November 4th

September 22, 2008 – New York, NY – It continues to be a stellar year for soprano Sarah Brightman, who recently captivated the world with her stunning performance at the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 World Olympics. Brightman was chosen as the sole international performer to perform at the Olympic opening ceremony and was given the honor of singing the Olympic theme song, “You and Me,” with Chinese star Liu Huan. The song was a highlight of the spectacular opening ceremony, which was broadcast to over five billion viewers. In only 26 hours after the ceremony, “You and Me” was downloaded a staggering 5.7 million times. Brightman was also featured on The Today Show, live from Beijing.
Following her Olympic success, Sarah will embark on a world tour – her first since 2004. Brightman will be performing 18 concerts in the US, 10 concerts in Canada and 4 concerts in Mexico. She kicks off the tour in Monterrey, Mexico on November 4th, 2008. Continuing her tradition of breathtaking stage productions, this tour will feature new and groundbreaking technology, with virtual and holographic stage sets that have never been seen before in any touring concert production. This innovative stage technology is highly sophisticated and dramatic, creating an otherworldly, ethereal experience: enormous realistic ballrooms will meld into fairytale gardens and then morph into giant fish tanks, right before the audience’s very eyes, creating a perfect backdrop for Sarah’s glorious voice.

After the successful release of her highest chart debuting album, Symphony, Sarah will release her first-ever Christmas album for the holiday season on Manhattan/EMI Records on November 4th. A Winter Symphony brings her virtuosity and originality to many of the season’s classics. Her angelic voice glides through an array of season favorites, including “Silent Night” and “In the Bleak Midwinter.” Her resplendent duet, “Ave Maria,” is sung with Fernando Lima, and Mario Frangoulis lends his talent on the new classical piece “Carpe Diem.” Also featured are timeless pop tracks, including Abba’s famous instrumental song “Arrival,” adapted for first time into a vocal piece, and a gorgeous rendition of Neil Diamond’s classic, “I’ve Been this Way Before.” Sarah also brings her own elegance to the holiday pop hits, including John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “Happy Christmas (War is Over),” “I Believe in Father Christmas” and “I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday.” A Winter Symphony was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Symphonic Orchestra, and a 46-piece choir.

This fall, Sarah will also star in the upcoming rock opera film: Repo! The Genetic Opera, featuring Anthony Head, Paul Sorvino and Paris Hilton.
The film is set for release through Lionsgate on November 7th, 2008.

During her career, Sarah has sold more than twenty-six million albums and over two million DVDs worldwide, and she continues to defy genres and create groundbreaking music for audiences around the world.

ROCK THE BLOCK for Pediatric Epilepsy Research
North shore families with children unite to find a cure for pediatric epilepsy

WILMETTE, IL – Rock the Block for Pediatric Epilepsy Research Benefit takes place at the Ravenswood Billboard Factory at 4025 N. Ravenswood Avenue in Chicago on Saturday, October 4, from 7 p.m. 'til midnight for dinner, drinks and dancing. There will be a fabulous silent auction and raffle. The awesome Chicago 70's disco cover band -- The Afrodisiacs will rock the block with live music.

All proceeds will benefit CURE - Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy. CURE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy by raising funds for research and by increasing awareness of the prevalence and devastation of this disease.

Parents and benefit organizers Kathy and Bob Dodd along with Stacey and John Pigott, are determined to find a cure for the devastating seizures that affect their children Stacy Dodd and Evan Pigott. They are joined by 28 other families who are helping make this benefit a success. Many of them have children with epilepsy or are neighbors and friends who have watched Stacy, Evan or other children struggle with repeated seizures or the damaging effects of the powerful drugs.

"It all began with the idea of having a block party…" said Stacey Pigott, one of the event co-chairs. "…since both kids live on the same block." Now it has turned into a hip urban block party for hundreds of North Shore and Chicago residents.
Stacy Dodd and Evan Pigott and the growing number of children affected by pediatric epilepsy need your help. Sadly, over 500 new cases of epilepsy are diagnosed each year – and yet there is no cure. The goal is to raise $50,000 for badly needed research. This would be enough for one pediatric epilepsy grant. Co-chair Kathy Dodd said, "We will never give up…and our work will not be done until we have helped find a cure for epilepsy."

For more information on Rock the Block or purchase tickets go to:
https://www.cureepilepsy.org/activities/2008_RockTheBlock.asp

The tickets are $127 -- a day of pediatric research.

DEBUT ALBUM – FAILURE AMERICAN STYLE – OUT NOW VIA TOUCH & GO
First Solo Release for Girls Against Boys Frontman/Guitarist Scott McCloud

New York, NY – Paramount Styles announce their first ever North American dates, kicking off October 10th at Union Pool in Brooklyn, NY. The new solo project from Scott McCloud, singer/guitarist for critically-acclaimed post-punks Girls Against Boys, will hit established venues including the Middle East in Cambridge and the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto before wrapping up in NYC at Lit Lounge.
