ROCK THE BLOCK for Pediatric Epilepsy Research
North shore families with children unite to find a cure for pediatric epilepsy

WILMETTE, IL – Rock the Block for Pediatric Epilepsy Research Benefit takes place at the Ravenswood Billboard Factory at 4025 N. Ravenswood Avenue in Chicago on Saturday, October 4, from 7 p.m. 'til midnight for dinner, drinks and dancing. There will be a fabulous silent auction and raffle. The awesome Chicago 70's disco cover band -- The Afrodisiacs will rock the block with live music.

All proceeds will benefit CURE - Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy. CURE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy by raising funds for research and by increasing awareness of the prevalence and devastation of this disease.

Parents and benefit organizers Kathy and Bob Dodd along with Stacey and John Pigott, are determined to find a cure for the devastating seizures that affect their children Stacy Dodd and Evan Pigott. They are joined by 28 other families who are helping make this benefit a success. Many of them have children with epilepsy or are neighbors and friends who have watched Stacy, Evan or other children struggle with repeated seizures or the damaging effects of the powerful drugs.

"It all began with the idea of having a block party…" said Stacey Pigott, one of the event co-chairs. "…since both kids live on the same block." Now it has turned into a hip urban block party for hundreds of North Shore and Chicago residents.
Stacy Dodd and Evan Pigott and the growing number of children affected by pediatric epilepsy need your help. Sadly, over 500 new cases of epilepsy are diagnosed each year – and yet there is no cure. The goal is to raise $50,000 for badly needed research. This would be enough for one pediatric epilepsy grant. Co-chair Kathy Dodd said, "We will never give up…and our work will not be done until we have helped find a cure for epilepsy."
