JAMES ANNOUNCE AMERICAN TOUR
BAND'S FIRST TOUR DATES IN 7 YEARS
NEW ALBUM, HEY MA, IN-STORES SEPTEMBER 16
New York, NY - UK faves James have announced their American tour dates
in support of their new album 'Hey Ma' being released on Decca. The band
will begin their tour on September 15th in Boston, MA; just one day
before the release of their first album in 7 years. In addition to their
headline tour, the band will make a stop at Radio City Music Hall in New
York City as special guests to Squeeze.
Influencing generations of bands (The Smiths, Oasis, Coldplay, Arcade
fire) with a career that includes 10 studio albums (5 produced by Brian
Eno) and twenty UK Top 40 singles including Sit Down, Come Home,
Born of Frustration, Sometimes and the ubiquitous Laid, James were
one of the most consistently successful artists of the 90's until they
quit in 2001. Known worldwide for their electrifying live shows, this
newly reunited maverick live band; Tim Booth, Jim Glennie, Larry Gott,
Saul Davies, Mark Hunter, Dave Baynton-Power and Andy Diagram will
embark on a long overdue US concert tour that's sure to remind everyone
of their lasting legacy.
"This is the best period of James I've ever been involved in. The band
is reformed in its strongest line up, (the 'Goldmother' to 'Laid'
period) and everything feels fresh again. The response in Europe has
been ecstatic and we are proud and excited to be returning to the
States, where we feel we have some unfinished business." Tim Booth
With subjects ranging from the war in Iraq in the title track to the
birth of Booths son in Bubbles, the new album 'Hey Ma' is as rich and
as passionate as anything they have ever created. James has remained
true to their original principles of making music their way. The success
of their recent UK tours and rave reviews of their new album demonstrate
their massive and extremely loyal fanbase and firmly remind the world
both of their distinct musical significance and their continued
relevance to a new generation.
