About Us - Amy Aiello

Lead Photographer

My favorite thing about photography is having the ability to show people beauty in things they might otherwise overlook or find unappealing at first glance.

The other thing I love so much, is having the ability to offer different visual perspectives from the everyday view of life.

I really want everyone that I work with to feel as though we are family, so that the images we take together really capture everyone's true personality.

More than that, I really try to make everyone's experience with me unique, fun, and memorable.

That being said, I operate in a "wall-less studio" setting, meaning that all shoots are on location. I have found that this allows my clients to better express themselves with the flexibility of choosing their own unique setting.

I love taking all kinds of photographs, and try my best not to adhere to any one genre of photography. I am always striving to improve my own technique, and evolve my photographic style. To do this, I am constantly researching, watching, and meeting with other photographers.

I have been working with the Chicago Music Guide since 2007 as a concert photographer. This opportunity has opened many doors for me, and has helped me learn so much about the music industry.

Aside from being a still photography, I am also a helicopter video camera operator for network news here in Chicago. I worked for ABC 7 for about a year, and am currently working simultaneously with NBC 5 and Fox Chicago. It's such a unique and wonderful experience!

I studied at Northern Illinois University with a focus in film (media studies) and broadcast journalism, and a minor in fashion. Photography actually wasn't a realized passion until shortly after graduating from college.

When I'm not taking photos, I like to keep busy with a variety of things, including studying classical piano. I've been playing for more than 16 years now, and have been studying techniques from my amazing teacher, Alexander Djordjevic, for a little over three years now. He is an immensely talented pianist and extraordinary teacher. Please take some time to listen to him performing - www.alexanderdjordjevic.com
